[blogger's ink] saint kathleen

This is from blogger Saint Kathleen aka my mama. She explained the tat to me...
"This is called “the glyph.” The three divisions stand for lots of things, starting from the top: Spirit, Mind, Body; seed, soil, plant; idea, law, reality; etc. But they all together represent the principle of creativity in all its glorious variety. The “V” represents the direction of manifestation. You start with an idea, you apply the laws that govern its manifestation, and it manifests in reality. On a metaphysical level, this is how a human can make harmony a reality. (It does not mean, as your little Auntie Mary said, that I’ve joined The Order of the Vagina.) If you carry the analogies out to the end, you could say the glyph represents God.

It is purposely off center so it is most visible to me, not the public, and it reminds me of who I am on the planet and what my job is: finding out how things work so I can bring harmony into being on all levels of life—physical, mental, emotional/social, spiritual. Heady stuff!

It is celadon green because I love that color. I brought a celadon plate to the tat artist so he could get the color right."
